Waec withheld 214,952 candidates’ results

The West African Examination Council, WAEC withheld results of some candidates of the 2017 May/June examination. Here are the details of the number of candidates whose WAEC results were withheld.
The 2017 WAEC result has been released and this has been announced on the official Twitter handle of WAEC. Some results were withheld. However, some candidates had errors in their results and are being worked on, they should not panic when they don’t see their results.

Usually when result are withheld, they are usually because the candidates were found copying from textbooks, use of mobile handsets and prepared answers allegedly smuggled into the examination hall.
Others were aided by invigilators, while some colluded with and assaulted invigilators and another set were found to have extensively copied answers in the exam hall and in some extreme cases, candidates left the examination hall with scripts and attempted to submit the same after the stipulated time.
Statistics of the Withheld WAEC Results for 2017
A total of 214,952 candidates’ results, representing 13.79% are being withheld in connection with various reported cases of exam malpractice.
The cases are being investigated & reports of the investigations will be presented to the NEC in due course for consideration. The Committee’s decisions will be communicated to the affected candidates through their schools.
